Created for its client, Luxaviation/FairJets Group, xcellence magazine exceeded Luxembourg-based binsfeld’s expectations by scooping two golds and one silver at the prestigious Best of Corporate Publishing (BCP) Awards.
The high quality, exclusive magazine is produced in the style of a classic travel journal providing the reader with insights into the finest restaurants and wine cellars, travel reports from destinations far removed from mass tourism together with interviews with the world’s best chefs to top-class event recommendations and impressive photojournalism. xcellence is committed to the finest things in life.
The jury voted it as best magazine in the B2C Tourism category where it defeated two Lufthansa magazines to win the gold prize. The second issue (February 2013) of the four times a year publication went on to be named “Cover of the Year”. The silver accolade was awarded in the “Special Prize for Printing & Innovation” category.
In its rationale the jury said of xcellence, “An in-flight magazine as exclusive as its target audience. Inspired by travel journals and graphic novels this is lifestyle journalism at its highest level.” Overall binsfeld were placed sixth in the medals table.
The BCP Awards are considered to be the highest in the European Corporate Publishing secto, and are organised annually by Forum Corporate Publishing (FCB) together with leading industry magazines, acquisa, Horizont, w&v and werbewoche.
This year around 670 publications from 15 countries competed and 215 were nominated for a prize. Forty-five gold awards were won by 28 companies and agencies.
