Background

RIGIPS is one of Austria’s best known companies for gypsum products and is synonymous with plasterboard

Objectives

To strengthen the brand through

• Employee identification with the company

• Reinforcement of the customer-distributor relationship

• Engaging in a common project apart from everyday business

• Reinforcement of faith in the capacity and resistance of RIGIPS products with the public at large

Programme

RIGIPS4FANS, to build sleeping quarters for the fans of the Euro 2008 football tournament. Targeting

• manufacturing industry, architects, media and public at large

• Company employees in Austria, subsidiaries in other countries, group headquarters

Tactics

To build, 700 sleeping units on the site of the EURO 2008 football stadium for 3000 fans per night using RIGIPS plasterboard. This took 26,000 square meters of plasterboard, , 34, 100 meters of metal profiling, 1540 working hours, 13 days of construction and 3 days of demounting, and 90% of the plasterboard was reused.

Results

•10 RIGIPS affiliated companies took part

•Every employee was part of the project from production to logistics

•RIGIPS reached more than 20 million contacts with RIGIPS4FANS in Austria 215,747 site views for www.rigips4fans.eu  quad lingual site

•RIGIPS Austria was awarded the Saint-Gobain “Star in Communication”

•Media value, in Austria alone, was €300,000.
