IPRN member, The McOnie Agency is the UK’s only PR consultancy specialising in health and safety and recently lent support to IPRN’s Luxembourg member, binsfeld, at that country’s largest health and safety exhibition.
Over 2,500 visitors registered for the event and together the two agencies spent three busy days speaking about the value and benefit of good public relations within the sector. The McOnie Agency was represented at the show by Mary D Fitzgerald and binsfeld by associate director, Claude Sauber.
To reinforce their combined approach Gerard Hand, a health and safety special adviser to The McOnie Agency and immediate past president of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in the UK was invited to give an address. His thought provoking presentation on the importance of implementing practical health and safety measures in the workplace and how these can be used to grow the profile of companies in a very positive light was extremely well received.
Claude Sauber, commented, “Gerard’s presentation was a revelation to his audience. The presence of The McOnie Agency was invaluable. Its expertise in communicating health and safety messages is first-class and certainly opened doors for us in Luxembourg to explore business avenues.
Sarah McOnie, managing director of The McOnie Agency said, “Furthermore coming together to work on this trade show gave both agencies the chance to share experiences and create opportunities that otherwise would have been difficult to generate. It has proved to us that if we combine our skills, knowledge and contacts we become a stronger force with a great message. The potential for new business is huge.”
Sarah went onto say that smaller firms – like her own and that of binsfeld – that have specialist knowledge can outpace the multinational consultancies, “While our experience and knowledge are local our reach, through our IPRN membership is global.”
