Edson Evers makes a splash for client Finning at biggest plant show in the UK

Finning Stand at Hillhead 2014

Operators of quarries and users of heavy plant equipment from all over the UK and Europe gathered recently for Hillhead 2014. The show, held in Hillhead Quarry in the Pennine Hills of England, is the biggest show in the UK to be set in a working quarry environment.

Held every two years Hillhead took place over three days in June and the 140,000 square metre site was host to outdoor displays, pavilions and working demonstration areas. In 2012 the show attracted over 17,500 visitors from 87 countries and was supported by 450 leading exhibitors.

Edson Evers client, Finning – UK dealer for world renowned Caterpillar, manufacturers of construction and mining equipment was a main participant in the show and to support its involvement Edson Evers devised a campaign involving several social media and traditional activities to bring them to the notice of attendees, and the wider world.

Special editions of Finning News magazine and sister online title www.finningnews.com – both conceived and launched by Edson Evers earlier in the year – were compiled for the show. The interactive iPad/iPhone and page turning magazine featured video interviews with key industry leaders, the content was made available free through Apple Newstand http://goo.gl/ZlBpq5 iPad/iPhone

Peter Haddock, Account Director at Edson Evers said, “As this show takes place only every two years it was essential that we had all communications avenues covered to ensure maximum exposure. It was a mad couple of days but we achieved our objectives – moreover the client was very happy.”
